There are certain milestones throughout the year where we get an opportunity to reflect on our past, our present and our future. Who we were, who we are and who we want to become.
At the end of the year, this is especially true.
With hopeful eyes we dream about new visions and aspirational accomplishments we’re ready to set sail on.
And we hope that this year will be different.
This is the year that we do the things, be brave and step into uncharted territories.
At the beginning of each year, I like to find one word that becomes the theme of centered focus that all other intentions and actions stem from.
I’d like to share that with you as we move into a future that feels more uncertain and unknown than previous years.
That word is Bravery.
With being brave in mind, here are a few questions to ask yourself;
1.How can I be more courageous and brave in my actions going forward?
2.How can I really step out of my comfort zone and step into any obstacle that comes my way?
3.How can I lead with a brave heart and love fearlessly?
4.How can I find compassion in the uncomfortable and lean into more risk taking towards the things that I want?
5.How can I let my internal navigation system guide the way?
6.How can I keep an open heart and clear mind, ready to face whatever challenge come my way?
It’s easy to do mental gymnastics on the myriad of choices and options we can take, but it’s another to physically put our hands into the work and let it unfold naturally into its own path.
The idea of taking a risk is always scarier than the risk itself.
Most regrets in life were always around not taking the opportunity.
Most lessons were always around what was learned when we did make an attempt.
Old paradigms are shifting, what felt outrageous in the past is now totally acceptable.
The world is changing rapidly, don’t be left behind worrying about this or that.
There is a future calling you to step out of your comfort zone into your hero zone.
There is a new dawn that wants you to cross a horizon with an upgraded identity. So much so that when you look back at your past, you’ll hardly recognize that person who was okay sitting on the sidelines.

Take more risks.
Even if you think you’ve failed, you haven’t.
List 5 things that you would absolutely love to do.
Then, list out all the reasons that hold you back from doing them.
Look at each one of those resistant statements and flip the script on it.
How could you turn it around that would empower you to take action?
If that doesn’t work for you, do this instead:
List all the ways you could ruin your life.
Include in this list one where you are playing so small no one knows you’re here.
Take that same list and flip the statements to write the opposite positive action.
Example:
I never speak up and share my thoughts because I’m afraid of what people will think.
Rewrite it to say:
I always speak up for myself and share my thoughts with people so we can have a real conversation about what’s happening.
Or
I always play it safe and stay in my comfort zone so I can never experience what the world has to offer.
Rewrite it to say:
I know when to stay safe while being out in the world. I’m fully comfortable being uncomfortable so that I can be involved in the world and the world will include me in it.
Time is the only real risk we have to lose.
Spend it wisely my friends on the things you love to do and you will be rewarded with a full experience.
We only get one chance to live this experience. Let’s look back satisfied on a life well-lived.
